Gaither Fest is a spectacular American festival in celebration of homecoming, like many such events being held in the US. It is home to lead vocalist Michael English, tenors Wes Hampton and David Phelps, baritone Mark Lowry and bassist Bill Gaither.
 
Gaither Fest’s headliner, the Gaither Vocal Band, began as a contemporary Christian music playing outfit, gradually evolving into a more southern gospel sound, particularly after the series of Gaither Homecoming videos the band worked on. Its lineup has also seen a number of changes over the past, having been home to artists such as Guy penrod. It has released a massive number of albums, twenty seven to date, of which a record nineteen have ranked high on the charts. It has also released ten DVDs.
 
When it comes to awards, few groups have won as many awards as the Gaither Vocal Band, one of the headlining acts at Gaither Fest. It is the proud owner of two Grammy Awards; both for the Best Southern Gospel, Country Gospel or Bluegrass Gospel. It has also won a mind blowing sixteen Dove Awards. Nine of these have been awarded to its albums as the Southern Gospel Album of the Year. Seven GMA Dove Awards have been awarded to the band’s songs, as the Southern Gospel Song of the Year.
