Among his most noted SNL characters was a pathological liar, Tommy Flanagan who often used the age-old catchphrase ‘Yes, That’s the ticket!’, soon after he laboriously completed making up his latest lie. This line had been used earlier by Humphrey Bogart. Other recurring characters portrayed by him included Michael Dukakis, Harvey Fierstein, Tonto, Master Thespian and Mephistopheles. In a 1986 SNL episode, he played Trekkie, the virgin, who according to the script was supposed to hang himself upon being asked if had kissed a girl ever.
