Luis Bravo is mastermind behind the sensuous and sophisticated production; a dance spectacle that revives the rich history of tango through dance, music and dramatic vignettes. Bravo’s seductive show has an 11-piece on stage orchestra, a vocalist and 16 world-class tango dancers, the accordion-like instrument that is the foundation of tango music and to manage it all the role of director-composer-producer is handled by Luis Bravo himself. The latest production includes Gilberto Santa Rosa as the vocalist and Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy from the show "Dancing With the Stars." The Latin Grammy-winning Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi is on board for a two-week engagement live on Broadway.
Guest stars to honor the return of Forever Tango include some big names. You can see Gilberto Santa Rosa . He is a Saxophone and trumpet player who has a desire to sing. He has 14 number- one hits on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart, a Latin heritage award and 5 Grammy Awards. Then there is Karina Smirnoff, the star of "Dancing With the Stars" with contributions in choreography for Broadway’s "Burn the Floor," award shows, music videos and a part in two films. She also has a successful dance studio "Karina Smirnoff Dance." Maksim Chemerkovskiy will also join them. He is a professional dancer, affiliated with "Dancing With the Stars." After he created his own "Maksim Chemerkovskiy" he has rendered his chorographic expertise in La Rêve – The Dream at Wynn Las Vegas. He has launched the nation’s leading Latin and ballroom dance studio.
The regular team includes experienced, talented professionals that have been the part of the team for a while now. Juan Paulo Horvath (Dance Captain) is one of the leading dancers of Argentina. He joined Forever Tango on Broadway at Shubert Theatre. Victoria Galoto was at National Dance Center of Paris, France, she performed as a singer and dancer. Since 2007 she has played a significant role after joining Forever Tango. Marcela Duran known as "The Woman of the Tango", joined the team and cemented her name amongst the great divas in the history of Tango. Gasper Godoy is the 2003, Buenos Aires Tango World Champion. Sebastian Ripol and Mariana Bojanich started to work as partners in 1999, performing Argentine Tango and folklore at the theatres and in Tango Houses in Buenos Aires. They joined in 2010. Soledad Buss and César Pearl have been part of the cast since September 2012.
Other renowned names are a part of the regular dance crew as well. They include Jean Luc Don Vito, make- up and hair designer who is part of the team since 1994. Argemira Affonso, costume designer, had a prestigious nomination for Drama Desk Award for Best Costume Design by Broadway critics in 1998. Live audio engineer, Rolando Obregon, joined South America and Korea tour and since then he is still the part of Forever Tango. Victor Lavallen is a seasoned Orchestra Conductor active since 1950 and a team member since 1995. Jorge Vernieri is the pianist and arrangement and orchestration is handled by a celebrated personality, Lisandro Adrover. Joe Watson is the General Manager with Frankel Green Theatrical Management, Neil A. Mazzela the technical supervisor and Jujamcyn Theatres, Red Awning and Christine L. Barkley are the producer, executive producer and associate producer respectively.
