This time the intimate concert hall will present the fabulous Columbian singer, Juan Fernando Fonseca, more popularly known as Fonseca. Performing continuously since 1997, Fonseca has been able to create an international repute for himself. Fans of the artist are now advised to purchase Fonseca tickets today, as seats are limited.
Born in 1979 in Bogota, Columbia, Juan started to develop an interest in music since a very young age. He was only twelve when he decided to record his first song. Making approximately five hundred copies, Juan distributed the record amongst his family and friends. Recognizing his passion for music, Juan’s parents encouraged him to pursue his dream. He enrolled into the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota where he studied music. He later moved to Boston to graduate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music.
Right after completing his education Juan started working on his debut album "Bomba de Tiempo." Financing the album himself, the artist started off by selling the copies at local bars and houses. Juan was able to sell five hundred copies of the record. While distributing his music, Juan ended up at the doorstep of Columbian artist Jose Gaviria. Gaviria gave the artist’s album a listen and decided he wanted to help the young, inspired Juan. They started working together in 1997. Fonseca was finally able to score his big break in 2002 when Lideres Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of EMI Capitol approached him.
The artist’s debut album came out in the same year. The self-titled release achieved massive success in his homeland. Tracks such as "Mangangue", "Sueno", "Noche de Carnaval" and "Confiesame" became local hits. The release was also able to attract the attention of several notable singers such as Juanes and Shakira. They both extended an invitation to work with Fonseca and thus he was seen collaborating with them on Shakira’s Tour of the Mongoose and Juanes’s Estadio El Campin Tour.
After completing these tours, Juan came up with his sophomore album in 2005 titled "Corazon." The record presented eleven tracks and was a worldwide success which brought unfathomed fame to the star. It produced hits such as "Como Me Mira", "Te Mando Flores" and "Hace Tiempo" and also won the artist a prestigious Latin Grammy Award in 2006. His third album named "Gratitud" presented audiences with tropical rhythms combined with urban tunes. The release made its way to Billboard Latin Albums chart and presented four hits that charted on the Billboard Latin Songs chart. In 2008, "Gratitud" also received a Latin Grammy Award nomination in the category of "Best Contemporary Tropical Album." On the album Juan was seen collaborating with writers such as Wilfran Castillo, Aponte, Alejandro Bassi, Hermides Manzano, L. Arriaga and J. Eduardo Murguia.
Fonseca’s most recent studio album ‘Illusion’ came out in the year 2011. The record was a worldwide hit and received a Latin Grammy Award for "Best Tropical Fusion Album" of 2012. The album also received a Grammy nomination for "Best Latin Pop Album", while its song "Desde Que No Estas" was nominated for "Best Tropical Song." Juan’s fourth album, "Illusion" topped the Colombian Albums chart and reached the eleventh spot on the US Topical Albums chart. If this wasn’t enough the ‘Illusion’ was certified nine times Platinum in Colombia and went Gold in Venezuela.
