Mike Epps aka Black Doug

Even though Mike Epps had been appearing in movies since 1997, it was the 2009 smash hit The Hangover that formally introduced this talented comedian to the world. In addition to movies, Epps is a standup who performs black, observational and satire comedy. He started his career with Def Comedy Jam in Brooklyn in 1995. Thanks to Def Comedy Jam broadcasts on HBO, Epps expanded his resume by making movie appearances with Jamie Foxx and Ice Cube. Some of his high profile movie appearances included Dr Dolittle 2, All About the Benjamins, The Fighting Temptations, Honey Mooners and Talk to Me. Epps has also made regular appearances on TV which include The Sopranos, Boondocks and 2016’s Uncle Buck as the titular character Buck Russell. Epps has also filled in as the host of the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Bruce Bruce – Comedian Actor Author

Growing up in the roughest ghettos of Atlanta, it takes monumental effort and discipline to stay clean. This is what Bruce Bruce did when growing up in The Bluff. Born February 9, 1965, Bruce Church aka Bruce Bruce is an actor, standup comedian and author. He started his career by appearing in the 2001 Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg starrer The Wash. Since his debut, Bruce Bruce has appeared in Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector and XXX: State of the Union with Ice Cube. In addition to regular appearances on television and movies, Bruce Bruce has also hosted BET’s Comic View and headlined the 2008 Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. Bruce Bruce is an exceptional artist who also recently released his first book Baby James Brown which chronicles many hilarious stories from his childhood.

Rickey Smiley – For Real 

Rickey Smiley has been entertaining audiences for the past 25 years. This standup comedian, radio personality, actor and television host was born Birmingham, Alabama. Starting his career by hosting the BET’s Comic View in 2000, Smiley has been bringing the laughs on a number of media platforms. The multi talented artist has appeared on Showtime at the Apollo, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, The Nashville Network and Uptown Comedy Club. Smiley also became the star of the KBFB in Dallas Texas where he introduced his trademark prank calls. In 2008, he signed a deal with Syndicated One and started hosting The Ricky Smiley Morning Show. The show is available on a number of urban radio stations across the US. Smiley was also a part of the Ice Cube’s 2002 movie Friday after Next with Michael Epps.

Felipe Esparza – What’s up Fool?

Known for his raw and comedic take on real life, Felipe Esparza distinguishing feature is his hair. Wild and unkempt, much like his comedy, Esparza was the winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2010. Since then he has produced and starred in one hour comedy shows. In April 2014, Esparza launched a popular new podcast called what’s up fool? The podcast went on to become one of the most popular on the All Things Comedy podcast network. In addition to his shows, Esparza has also been a part of extensive marketing campaigns for Honda and Target, specifically aimed at Hispanic millennials. Born in Los Angeles, Esparza uses his every day experiences as content for his shows. His honest take on everyday life in Los Angeles give his shows a unique perspective. After winning the top prize at NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Esparza has appeared in many shows. The shows he appeared on include Arsenio Hall, The Tonight Show, Lopez Tonight and Comics without Borders.

The Festival of Laughs will be touring a number of cities. With tickets to many of the shows still available, it’ll be a great opportunity for fans to get Festival of Laughs tickets before they sell out.
