Farm Aid Tickets
The country gurus have decided to lend a hand to the family farm by organizing a benefit concert for them. This concert is held every year with some of the most popular artists of the country. It is the time of the year when the best from Pop, Rock and R&B world comes down to kick off an exciting concert. Farm Aid concert was held for the first time in 1985 and since then it has become a tradition of this region. It all started from Champaign in Illinois and continued for three years. They took a break for a year and made their way back in 1989.The efforts were still not consistent but in 1992 the organizers started afresh and have been going without a miss till today. As the number of years increased, the scope of the concert also grew bigger. The event which was limited for the audiences of Illinois has now reached Chicago, Iowa, Texas, Lousiana, Nebraska, Indiana, South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York. This has gradually surfaced as one of the most awaited events of the season for the country music lovers.
This annual concert was seeded in the music space as a reaction to Bob Dylan’s comment. He was performing at the Live Aid event and during his performance he made a request "I hope that some of the money…[can be used] to pay the mortgages on some of the farms and the farmers here, owe to the banks....". This request stimulated the debate on doing something worthwhile for the farm family. The advocates of this initiative were off the view that, these families are practically holding up a significant part of the agricultural sector. Their efforts should be recognized and they should be supported in every possible way. At this point, these three gentlemen of the music world rose up to occasion and came up with this interesting arrangement.
Farm Aid which started as a single concert is now an established nonprofit organization. This organization has been working actively in creating awareness about the Farm Families. They have done significant work in reinforcing the importance of these families. The board of directors of Farm Aid; John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Willie Nelson are determined to make a bigger impact on the people than the last year. Their aim is reach the maximum number of people across the country and it would be safe to say that they have been quite successful in doing so. They have been able to inspire thousands of people everywhere and among these inspired ones Dave Mathews is a well known name. In 2001, he decided to officially associate with the cause and since then he is the fourth director of the Farm Aid Board.
Every year people from an entirely new region get the privilege of hosting the event. The event is held in the mid of August. The event is for the support of the farmers and agriculture but that doesn’t put music in the back seat. Farm Aid concerts are known to be one of the best places for good country music. The music played at these concerts is from some of finest musicians of the industry. Some of the most memorable performances at these concerts have been by Bon Jovi, Bob Dylan, John Denver, Dave Matthews Band, Tim Reynolds, Norah Jones and The Allman Brothers Band. The most awaited moment of the event is the pep talk coming straight from the charming Neil Young. He never misses an opportunity to motivate people in supporting their organization.
