Eric Church’s Beginning
Church is a child prodigy, who found a gig at a local bar, while he was still in high school. A native of North Carolina, Church was earlier influenced by Jimmy Buffett, whose cover songs he would play while performing live gigs. Once he graduated, he entered the Appalachian State University and graduated with a marketing degree. Having a degree in business but heart in music, Church moved to Nashville.
Music Career: 2005 – Today
Eric Church has been with Capitol Nashville since 2005. Under the record label, his debut album Sinners Like Me came out in 2006. The album reached 7th spot on the US Top Country Albums chart and with songs “Guys Like Me,” “Two Pink Lines” and “How ‘Bout You” the album was certified Gold by the RIAA.
His next album Carolina was a bigger success. The album reached 4th spot on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums chart and had hit songs “Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Hell on the Heart” and “Love Your Love the Most.” Certified Platinum by the RIAA, Carolina was Church’s biggest success till Chief hit the stores in 2011. It would go to win triple-platinum certification from the RIAA, thanks to songs such as “Springsteen,” “Homeboy,” “Like Jesus Does,” “Drink in My Hand” and “Creepin.”
