Getting inspired by The Donnas
Tanner Elle Schneider or famously known as Elle King was born in 1989 to comedian, Rob Schneider and former model, London King. She grew up in southern Ohio. When she was a kid, her parents divorced and her mother married Justin Tesa who gave Elle a record by the group, The Donnas. The band influenced Elle King to pursue a career in the music industry. She also started listening to other popular names like, Blondie and Runaways. She learned to play the guitar when she was thirteen.
Elle King began to develop her taste in country music and later learned to play the banjo by getting inspired by legends like, Earl Scruggs and Hank Williams. In 1999, she made her acting debut by starring in a film, ‘Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo’ and soon immersed herself in the local songwriting scene.

Elle King later signed with RCA Records via which her debut single, Good To Be A Man was released as a digital download in 2012. Her debut extended play, ‘The Elle King EP’ soon followed which reached the markets in the summer of the same year. It was produced by, Chris DeStefano and Andy Baldwin. The EP spawned four songs out of which, Playing For Keeps was used as a theme song for the VH1 series, ‘Mob Wives Chicago.’
Elle King made her presence felt when she was chosen as an, ‘Artist to Watch in 2012’ by the Esquire Magazine. Ex’s and Oh’s
Two years after the release of her EP, Elle King came out with a song titled, Ex’s and Oh’s, in 2014. It served as the lead single of her full length studio album, ‘Love Stuff.’ The song performed well on the charts and reached the tenth spot on the Billboard Hot 100. It also topped the Hot Rock Songs and Adult Pop songs. Moreover, Ex’s and Oh’s recorded double platinum sales in the United States and Australia whereas it went three times platinum in Canada.
The song achieved critical success too as it got four and a half stars out of five from Renowned for Sound. The album was released through RCA Records and was produced by, John Hill, Eg White, Martin Johnson, Jacknife Lee, Jeff Bhasker and Dave Bassett. It reached the twenty sixth spot on the Billboard 200 and achieved gold level sales in the United States and Canada. The record incorporated alternative rock, country rock and indie pop sounds and received three stars out of five from AllMusic.
