The Electric Daisy Carnival has been regularly taking place in Las Vegas Nevada but prior to that it has been held in Southern California since 1997. The organizers are Insomniacs an entertainment company, this is primarily an annual electronic dance music festival that takes place annually on the last weekend of June. This event has also started taking place in other cities apart from Las Vegas like in Puerto Rico since 2009, in Colorado from 2008 and also Texas. In 1997 the first show was held at the Shrine Expo Hall. Since then it has been taking place at different venues in Southern California like Exposition Park in Los Angeles, Queen Marry Events Park in Long Beach, Hansen Dam in Sylmar and National Orange Show Event Center in San Bernardino.
 
The show format is kind of unique as it features visual delights, talented performance artists and multiple stages full of a variety of electronic dance music with a wide variety of genres like House Music, Techno, Drum and Bass, Trance music and even Dubstep. The stages are usually divided to cater different artists and are given names such as Neon Garden, Bass Pod, Cosmic Meadow, Circult Grounds and Kinetic Field. The 2006 event was held NOS Events Center in San Bernardino and the Kinetic Field featured performers like Infected Mushroom, Christopher Lawrence and Ferry Corsten.  Neon Garden featured DJ Zinc, Planet of the Drums and Hazen Orange. 2007 event was held at Los Angeles Coliseum with an attendance of 40,000 fans. Major performers were Cedric Gervais, Infected Mushroom, Deep Dish, DJ Fury, Hazen and Chuck Love.
 
2008 saw an immense increase in overall crowd attendance as it was 65000 and the event was held at Los Angeles Coliseum. Featured artists this time were DJ Hype, DJ Dan, Friction, DJ Reza, party Shank, Dieselboy, DJ Fury and Deco. The first Electric Daisy Carnival in Puerto Rico was held in 2009 and it was organized by Insomniacs. The venue was in San Juan called the Arena Fairgrounds, this time the participants were X-Man, Rabbit in The Moon, Treasure Fingers, Darren Prince, Damian Lazarus and Cut Radio. The 2009 festival was a two day event, the first day attendance was 40,000 and on the second day it jumped to an amazing 99,000. The line-up of artists this time was amazing as it included Pretty Lights, DJ Marky, Shiny Toy Guns, DJ AM, Paul Van Dyke, Subfocus, The Crystal Method and DJ AM.
 
The 2010 Carnival was a massive event as it was attended by 98000 music lovers and there was huge lineup of performers scheduled for both days like on day 1^st Excision, Shy FX, Jack Beats, BT, Oscar G, Circuit, Breakdown, Chuckie, Spank Rock and 12^th Planet. The second day performer list included Fury, Subflo, Sounds of Stereo, Dada Life, Bart B More, Sasha, LA Riots, Duck Sauce and Roger Sanchez.
