About Jonathan Nig
Jonathan Nig’s exposure to music was the school orchestra. He was classically trained for many years, but soon grew tired of it. Instead, the visionary artist pursued his interest in organic instrumentation instead. Once he had a grasp over the EDM sound, he began creating his own music. He used the social media platform to promote his music. It gained him a great deal of followers fairly early on. He started uploading his tracks on Soundcloud under the title of The Eden Project in 2013. The following year, he released his first electric play, Kairos. His music style set him apart from other music producers because his was more subdued and subtle.
EDM is about upbeat music that, literally, compels people to dance. But his music is more of a journey; the listener is invited into the track, presented with a story in lyrics or music and then is taken to a climax and crescendo. His tracks sustain a trance throughout and this has become one of the defining features of Eden’s music. His classical training has honed Eden’s voice as well, and he sings on a number of his track. His naturally baritone voice adds to the trance-like quality of his music. Fans of the twenty one year old particularly appreciate the quality of his music during his live shows.
Nig released about four electric plays under his actual name, but in 2015 decided to go by the alias Eden. In the same year, he also launched his own music label, MCMXCV. His first Electric Play under this label, Final Call amassed over 14 million plays on SoundCloud.
Eden’s fame and acclaim gained him the resources to embark on his first tour, the “End Credits” tour. The success of the tour encouraged the artist to release his next EP in 2016, titled “I think you think too much of me”. The track “Fumes” off this new record was premiered by Billboard on their song charts a month after its release. The singer has slowly become a commercial success. His fame now goes well beyond the EDM community as he sells out famous spots in metropolitan cities such as New York and San Francisco.
“Vertigo” will be Eden’s first studio album. It is set to launch in January 2018, but the artist has given us a taste of it with the single “start//end”. The track has been released on a number of streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. It is accompanied by a music video as well, the views on which have surpassed 1 million.
While Eden’s growing fan base anticipated the artist’s first studio record, they have the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive taste of it on his live shows. The artist is touring a number of American cities in 2018 along with the up and coming Brooklyn singer Vérité. Eden tickets for these shows are still available, and you can catch the music artists live by purchasing them.
