Dierks Bentley defines his passion for country music in the words ‘It is not just a way of making a living but gives me direction and puts my life to purpose’.
He is among the few artists of the industry who actually got a chance to formally launch their musical career, getting associated with a major music label since the start. Bentley signed a contract with a key recording company of United States, Capitol Records, prior to the launch of his debut album in 2003. Dierks Bentley unlike the other artists of the industry does not have a tale elaborating on his achievements and trainings since he was young. A self made artist, Bentley educated himself on music by listening to a number of records and got the initial experience by playing in the clubs and bars of Nashville. He moved to the city, at the age of nineteen. With a desire to turn his dream of being a famous artist of the industry he immersed in the music scene of the city in no time. His first formal performance was at a cosmetically challenged venue. Making way to lower Broadway opened doors of success for Bentley, guiding him through the right way to take his talent upfront. His demos were heard by a number of labels who got actually interested in signing a deal with him. This was when the artist signed his deal with Capitol Records. It was the first step forward in making his dream come true.
Capitol Records saw a star in Dierks Bentley and gave him all the freedom to come up with a record of his choice. Emphasizing on the dynamics and the acoustic sounds, the artist gave each song its respective space and the outcome was a phenomenal self-titled debut album. Comprising of thirteen incredible songs, it was certified as Platinum and affirmed his position in the music industry or good.
Dierks Bentley has released eight albums so far, with a number of singles making their way up on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts and Hot Country Charts. His list of hit songs is highlighted by ‘What Was I Thinkin’, ‘Bartenders, ‘Forget About You’ and the likes.
