He is the founder of a rock band “Traffic” and rose to fame after performing live at various venues. He started playing solo in 1970 and co-produced his debut album with Tommy LiPuma. "World in Changes", was his debut single that he released in 1970. The record reached the Top 25 and stayed there for six months. It was certified gold as the song "Only You Know and I Know" was a Top 40 hit. He collaborated with his friend Mama Cass Elliot in 1970 and formed a duo. The group released an album Dave Mason and Cass Elliot.  The duo could not stay together for a long time and Dave Mason later joined Blue Thumb as a successful recording artist. He has also worked together with many other notable artists of rock and pop genre such as Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Delaney Bramlett, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac and George Harrison among others. Mason has appeared on a record Beggars Banquet by “Rolling Stone” in 1968. Dave kicked off on a tour with George Harrison and Eric Clapton from 1969 to 1970. Dave co-wrote the number "Big Thirst" on Oh How We Danced, as well as played the guitar on his own on "Don't be a Hero".
 
Dave turned out to be a huge success as one of the most important concert attractions, performing in venues like Los Angeles Forum and Red Rocks, Madison Square Garden, during the 1970s. He joined a new Fleetwood Mac lineup from 1994 to 1996 and toured with the band extensively. The ensemble released an album “Time” in 1995. The record featured two hit songs co-written by Dave. He was much successful as a solo artist and has released a number of albums including Alone Together, Dave Mason & Cass Elliot, It's Like You Never Left, Dave Mason, Let It Flow and many others. It was always his ability to perform stunningly and attract a loyal fan following that have kept him afloat professionally and personally. In addition to great song writing, rich career and live performances, Dave has also received invitations to perform on many of the most legendary artists in music. These important names include Electric Ladyland , Beggars Banquet, Lily The Pink, All Things Must Pass , Delaney & Bonnie & Friends on Tour with Eric Clapton 1970 and Motel Shot, among others.
