Daryl Hall Tickets
In an age when the Beatles were gaining popularity in America, Hall & Oates held their own by channeling Mo Town, Bill Haley and the Comets and Chuck Berry. Today, they have become musical influences themselves for artists varying from John Mayer to the Gym Class Heroes. One of the quintessential blue-eyed soul artists of the 70’s, Hall & Oates have teamed up with their contemporaries Tears for Fears and embarked on a cross-country tour. The two are bringing the timeless quality of 70’s pop rock to the stage. You have a chance to catch them on the road by booking Daryl Hall tickets now.

Daryl Hall and John Oates
Perhaps one of the most sampled artists today, Daryl Hall and John Oates have managed to make blue-eyed soul timeless and universal. From boy bands to punk groups; commercial to indie acts, there are numerous modern acts that carry resonances made popular by this duo. Their music and lyrics have a plethora of nuances which have become characteristic of modern music.
Hall often puts an emphasis on their setting when considering the iconic contributions they have made to music. He says a lot of it is “being in the right place at the right time.” i.e. 70’s Philadelphia. Philadelphia at the time had become the musical epicenter for blues, soul and jazz and was establishing its own lingo. According to Hall, the Beatles never really caught on in Philadelphia, despite taking America by storm, because no one there would want to “dance to it”.
They were on a different plane altogether, and successfully too. With six # 1 singles between the mid-70’s and mid-80’s Hall and Oates quickly became forces to be reckoned with. The duo’s probable longevity became apparent when six of their albums consecutively became multi-platinum hits. It was instilled in their song-writing artistry, and Hall employed it for other musical acts as well. He wrote H&O’s single “Everytime You Go Away” for which singer Paul Young scored a number-one hit in 1985.
The change-of-pace brought about during the 2000’s has not hindered Hall and (or) Oates. In May, 2008, they were honored with the Icon Award at BMI’s Pop Awards. It had previously gone to acts such as Carlos Santana, James Brow, Bee Gees and Paul Simon.
The Redefining Concert
In March 2014, Eagle Rock Entertainment released their first new concert video in seven years. Daryl Hall and John Oates: Live In Dublin, their comeback gig, was the first ever concert the duo had performed in Dublin. They dug deep into the plethora of tracks recorded by them over the years and laid out their entire career in the duration of that concert. The film features Hall promising to the audience that they are “making up for lost time” in a city they’ve never performed in before. This sensational performance was (rightly) followed by a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction for the two singer-songwriters later the same year.
While Hall & Oates record and perform as a duo, they work on individual projects as well. Hall’s latest project is a hit, multi-award-winning web series called Live from Daryl’s House. It airs from his restaurant in New York with a live audience and a performance stage. So far, acclaimed acts such as Chiddy Bang, Smokey Robinson, Todd Rundgren, Dave Stewart, Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump and Jason Mraz have featured on the show. Hall frequently introduces new artists as well including Mayer Hawthorne, Eric Hutchinson and Diane Birch.
John Oates released a solo project with PS and Elektra Records during 2014 as well. A series of digital singles were released through this endeavor, titled “Good Road To Follow” and divided into three discs. As Hall mentioned in their Hall of Fame Induction speech, it is rare that despite being a group playing with one another over a considerable number of years, they have remained great friends. Perhaps it is given to the leverage the two give to one another for their solo projects which allows for them to create a working relationship with one another.
Touring with Tears For Fears
The two-piece have embarked again on a tour celebrating the 70’s uniqueness with their contemporaries, Tears For Fears. The two acts are iconic representation of that long-gone decade and so a tour being co-headlined by them is a rare treat for modern audiences. Despite representing markedly different genres, Hall & Oates and Tears For Fears both have timeless music which displays universal, humanistic themes. Concert-goers with Daryl Hall tickets are already revisiting the 70’s on this new tour.
