Dan Tyminski – A Recognizable Voice in Acoustic Music
Hailing from Southern Vermont, Dan Tyminski’s fixation with classic country and traditional bluegrass started when he was in his mid-teens. While his friends were buying records of AC/DC and Def Leppard, Dan was busy learning to play banjo. Despite being a fan of heavy percussion and even rock n roll, it was bluegrass that always drew him in.
He later moved to Virginia and replaced banjo with mandolin after joining the Lonesome River Band. Soon after he was hired by the Alison Krauss and Union Station band as their guitarist but from time to time he was encouraged to showcase his down-home vocals. The band popularity soared with time as they catered to a bigger and wider audience. But a separate breakthrough came for Dan Tyminski when he took the lead on the song “Man of Constant Sorrow” that featured on the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” starring George Clooney.
The song took home a Grammy Award, along with a CMA Award and a newfound recognition for Tyminski. Taking advantage of his increased popularity, the bluegrass singer released his debut solo album “Carry Me Across The Mountain” in 2000. A collection of incredible bluegrass songs, it also featured the genre’s stalwarts such as Tony Rice and Jerry Douglas.
“Wheels” followed in 2009 and it topped the Bluegrass charts. The 12-track album was even up for a Grammy nomination and cemented Dan’s place as one of the finest singers in country music.
Dan Tyminski Delivers Good For Your Soul Music
Serving as co-writer on all of the songs for his latest album “Southern Gothic”, Tyminski has called his effort a mirror to the society. He claims neither to be judgmental or opinionated and feels his listeners will be able to understand the message his strong lyrics give out.
Vivid lyrics matched by Dan Tyminski’s memorable vocals on the title track immediately set the tone of the album. Sultry beats and riveting percussion on “Gone” give out R&B vibes, a clear indication that more diverse sounds will follow. And Tyminski doesn’t disappoint.
He also doesn’t shy away from taking risks and in “Southern Gothic” has taken a plunge into electro-pop. His Americana and bluegrass roots stay intact, but Tyminski was actually happy with the change in his voice and the grungy hip-hop vibe he was able to create. “Temporary Love” and “Perfect Person” have already gained popularity among his diehard fans and when he hits the road this summer, these two tracks are likely to be crowd favorites.
Dan Tyminski tickets have enough demand of their own and it doesn’t matter whether he’s sharing the stage with headliners like Brad Paisley or performing solo. A superb live performer, he has the talent to lure in a massive crowd to his concerts and treat the audience to an amazing time.
Merging modern sounds with traditional bluegrass, he keeps things exciting for the fans. From country to Americana moments, to R&B and pop flavors, a Dan Tyminski concert is a beautiful night of quality music and voice. Don’t miss the stunning performer and musician live when he takes the stage in your town.
