Mitchell Scott, Tim Hoey and Bennett Foddy joined the band in the year 2003 to form Cut Copy. The following year in April, the band issued their first LP. The album's name was Bright Like Neon Love and had the leader of the band, Dan Whitford as the writer and producer. The same year, the band saw the leave of Bennett Foddy, who left in order to become a doctor. The group went on their first international tour in the year 2005, performing in numerous countries such as the United Kingdom, where they visited London, and the United States of America, where they performed in Los Angeles, and New York City.
 
Cut Copy have gone on numerous international tours ever since, and performed with famous artists such as Mylo, Bloc Party, Junior Senior, The Presets, Franz Ferdinand and many more as well. The band went on an extensive tour of Australia in December of the year 2007, performing on the Nevereverland tour with Daft Punk. Approximately fifty thousand people showed up in the audience at their Sydney concert. The same year, the trio made an announcement in which they proclaimed to release their sophomore album in the year 2007. However, the record got delayed, and the album was finally released on the 22^nd of March, 2008 in Australia as well as the rest of the world. The record was titled In Ghost Colours, and it went on to become a major hit, being placed on the number one spot on the ARIA Albums Chart.
 
One of their songs, Far Away, was featured in a television show in the United States called Nip/ Tuck. In addition to this, FIFA played their track, Lights and Music in the year 2009. Moreover, in September of the year 2010, RIM's Blackerry PlayBook featured their song, Where I'm Going in one of their videos. The band released their next album shortly afterward and named it Zonoscope. The album went on to turn highly successful, peaking at the number 3 in February of the year 2011. The trio were the headlining act at the Ultra Music Festival which took place in March in Miami, Florida, United States. They have performed at various events and places over the years such as in Tel Avic, Barby Club, the Zappa Club and many more as well.
