After his passing, he moved back to his birth city but unfortunately, his parents soon divorced. While Gray was studying in sixth grade, he flew to Texas with his mother's family where they ultimately settled.

He posted his first video after a week titled, ‘Let Me Introduce Myself’ which received over two hundred thousand hits. He then started vlogging and uploaded many interesting videos including, ‘An Average Week in My Life,’ ‘Crying Over Birthday Presents,’ ‘Taking Myself On A Date,’ ‘The Big Art Contest’ and ‘Moving.’

Conan Gray also filmed a very popular video called, ‘I’m a girly boy and I don’t care’ in which he told how people judged him for not being manly enough. He also said that he doesn’t care what others think of him and also confessed that he has never felt manly enough. Apart from vlogs, he also uploads a segment on his channel, ‘Monthly Favs’ in which Gray shares his favorite things for a month with his fans.
