Formed in Boston, Come is a rock band that began working professionally in the early 90s. Before establishing a team, all four musicians worked separately with different bands including Live Skull, Kilkenny Cats, Bar-B-Q Killers, Fashion Battery and a few others.
Since the 90s, Come has managed to maintain their trademark style that includes intense, dark and lengthy songs. Thalia’s emotional voice and the tension filled guitar interplay between Chris Brokaw and her has received much critical praise. Each band member is extraordinarily accomplished in their particular areas of expertise. Many fellow musicians such as Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, Dinosaur Jr’s J.Mascis and Indigo Girls’ Amy Ray have praised their unique musical approach in several different ways. Their writing is great and compositions are flawlessly amazing giving each song a perfect blend of blues and alternative rock music.
Throughout their career, Come has worked with several major record companies of the US. So far they have been associated with Domino, Matador, Baggers Banquet, Sub Pop and Pacebo. The band’s debut album, 11:11 hit the shelves in 1992 receiving an outstanding feedback from many well-known magazines and internet publications. Entertainment Weekly, Spin, Billboard Magazine, Allmusic, Rolling Stone, Musichound and several other rating companies seemed quite impressed with Come’s first ever musical project.
Allmusic referred to the album as, "a uniquely sludgy, electric, and strong fusion of sounds and styles." Entertainment Weekly characterized 11:11 as "enthralling, like watching someone howl into a rainstorm." On the whole, the record sold millions of copies and earned Come an amazing goodwill throughout the music industry.
A couple of years later the group came up with its second studio album, Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. This one also received a positive feedback from multiple magazines and websites. The record spawned a series of hits including "Wrong Side," "String," "In/Out" and "Lets Get Lost." The fourth and final studio album by Come is Gently, Down the Stream. After the release of the album, CMJ New Music Monthly stated that, "those who like hard rock music and have never heard Come are missing out a lot." The Sunday Times, Sputnik, Entertainment Weekly and many others gave Gently, Down the Stream a positive feedback as well.
In the past years Come has performed live in various popular festivals such as the TraniWreck Festival and Tanned Tin Festival. Both Thalia Zedek and Chris Brokaw gave exceptional performances at the 20th anniversary of the Middle East Club in Cambridge. Recently, Come has officially announced to go on an international tour celebrating the two decades of their debut album, 11:11. A re-issue of the record is also planned.
The talented rock stars will be performing all your favorite tracks in the upcoming set of events. They have worked together as a team for almost two decades. Fellow musicians, critics and all the fans around the world have always loved and respected their musical approach. Come has also shared the stage with many others including Thurston Moore, Steve Wynn, Tortoise, The New Year and many others.
