A music career that started in 1992, met with an extensive commercial success with the release of the band’s first full length album "Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid" in 1993. The album featured mega hit singles like "Shine", "Wasting Time" and "Breathe". Their 1995 second self-titled album found great success and reached at 23 on the Billboard 200. The album included hit songs like "December", "The World I Know" and "Where the River Flows" that topped the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. It became the highest-selling album of the band and remained on the Billboard chart for 76 weeks. Soon it was certified as Triple-Platinum by the RIAA.
This phenomenal success brought the band on the road and it went on a tour to several locations across the country. The next album "Disciplined Breakdown" was recorded during the tough times due to the lawsuit that the band was going through. It came out in 1997 under the Atlantic Records and hit the charts, reaching 16th position. It produced a few hit singles like "Precious Declaration" and "Listen" that became Mainstream Rock Tracks toppers and added on to the repute of the band.
Focusing more on the production aspects of recording their fourth studio album, Collective Soul brought a little change to their music style. "Dosage" featured synth-pop beats and lots of loops as compared to their previous albums that sounded more raw and basic. The single "Heavy" from the album became another Mainstream Rock Chart cracker and became the opening sound of the game NHL 2001. Two other songs "Run" and "Tremble for My Beloved were featured in the movies "Varsity Blues" (1999) and "Twilight" (2008) respectively. Their next and last album "Blender" under the label of Atlantic Records had more pop sound and elements to it and it was the band’s least popular album with the record. The following album "Youth" was released in 2004 under the band’s own label named EL Music Group. Unlike their previous albums Dosage and Blender, ‘Youth’ featured more balanced pop-rock sound and the single "Counting the Days" brought the band back to Mainstream Rock Tracks charts.
The following two releases contained more refined sound by the band and were released under the band’s owned record label. The 2007 album "Afterwards" was not a commercial hit but it maintained the band’s repute as a fine-music band. Their 2009 studio album "Collective Soul" which is also known as the Rabbit, made a considerable impact by finding its way to the charts. The digital version of their music was also available on the iTunes that gave access to their music for the cell phone and web-based listeners.
The inclusion of their song in one of the most popular movies of the recent time "Twilight" helped him expand their audience and their music became known to youngsters and teenagers. The band is on a short hiatus, but it plans to release their much awaited album in 2014. Meanwhile the band continues to hit several venues for a series of their concerts. Coming at Casino Rama Entertainment Center, Collective Soul will be performing live to an immense audience.
