The very famous British rock band, Coldplay, comprises four passionate band members, known as Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, and Will Champion. Selling more than 35 million albums worldwide, Coldplay has earned itself an eternal position in Britain's music elite by writing beautiful yet simple songs, and topping the charts with their signature rock songs. Coldplay is an indie rock band that shaped in London, UK, during the year of 1997. The band consists of four band members, with Chris Martin as the lead vocalist and pianist; Guy Berryman as the bassist; and Jonny Buckland on the lead guitars, with Will Champion on the drums. First practicing and then playing various instruments since there adolescence, all the band members are said to be influenced by artists such as Bob Dylan Neil Young, My Bloody Valentine, and the Stone Roses.
The band has released four studio albums so far that have been debuted at NUMBER 1 on the UK album chart. Coldplay has also released two studio albums, entitled Live 2003, released in the year 2003, and LeftRightLeftRightLeft being released recently, in 2009. Coldplay has earned worldwide fame through its super-hit songs like Yellow, The Scientist, Speed of Sound, Fix You, Clocks and Viva la Vida. One unique and rare feature of the songs of the band Coldplay includes the factor of optimism, which is not found in other English bands. The singles produced so far include an expected sadness and desire, yet they are unique in their own manner.
Their self created debut EP, Parachutes, was released in 1998. This album presented a compilation of soulful, direct and utterly mellow songs expressing the emotions hidden inside. The band managed to sell approximately 5 million copies of its debuting album worldwide. Parachutes also won two Brits Awards during 2001 and the Grammy for the Best Alternative Album in 2002, along with making the band get hold of the NME and Q Awards. Coldplay's first hit single, Yellow, also came from this album. Yellow was an effort to produce a different taste of music in the market, and got directly into the charts at the position of # 4.
Coldplay is such a band that took a jump from performing at small clubs, bars and pubs to the Park in Glasgow, the Big Day Out in Australia and a headlining US tour. From there onwards, Coldplay started touring the world extensively. The band also gathered a lot of fan-following after doing a great deal of work promoting various charities and humanitarian causes.
