R&B diva, Ciara is a busy woman this year. A new mom, she’s getting back into shape, is about to release her sixth album “Jackie” and is also prepping for her countrywide tour. Ciara has explored R&B to its core and hence treats the fans to her distinct and unique compositions. Since she started out in 2004, the 29-year old singer has become more versatile and accomplished in her talent. She made her musical debut in 2004 with the hit album “Goodies” and it topped the R&B Album charts. On Billboard 200, it peaked at number 3. Following the album release, Ciara embarked on a tour in 2005 and Ciara tickets remained in demand for all her shows.
Born in Texas, Ciara grew up in a military family and had to travel a lot. Finally her family settled in Atlanta and it exposed her to the “Dirty South” hip-hop music scene that was evolving in the area. At that time though, Ciara wanted to become a model and she even joined the cheerleading squad in high school. The music sensation credits her time on the squad in shaping up her personality. Performing in front of crowd, with no room for error, gave her immense confidence and she learned how not to get nervous. It wasn’t until that her high school ended and she caught a performance of Destiny's Child on live television that she finally figured out she wanted to be a singer.
She immediately took action, started writing songs and ended up with a songwriting gig. For some time she performed in an all-girl group Hearsay but her main goal was to enter the music world solo. In 2002 opportunity finally knocked on her door and she signed with Jazze Pha's label, Sho' Nuff. Under the guidance of ace producer Lil Jon, she released the single Goodies and its crunk’s loaded bass beat made it one of the most played songs in dance clubs at that time. Following the success, Jon named her the Queen of Crunk R&B. After crossing her first hurdle to instant stardom, Ciara didn’t let go of the ambitious edge in her and set out for more accolades.
Getting off to a good start, Ciara released her sophomore record in 2006, titled “Ciara: The Evolution”. It topped the Billboard 200 and included hit singles such as Like a Boy, That’s Right and Promise. “Fantasy Ride” came next in 2009 and Ciara was able to retain her R&B queen status with smash-hits like Love Sex Magic and Never Ever. She made everyone speechless with her “Basic Instinct” and her self-titled record in 2013 brought her more praise. The star once again found her name on the Billboard charts.
“Jackie” is expected to release around May 5 and Ciara has given the fans a sneak peek with the single “I Bet”. The album will also feature other top musicians like Pitbull, Missy Elliott and Joe Jonas. As the superstar heads into your town for a rocking concert, make sure you’re there to give her a warm welcome. She will show you the time of her life.
