Chris Stapleton Returns With Another Real Country Album
He mostly side skipped all expectations pinned on his second album and without any desire to ratify the praise showered upon him, Chris Stapleton released a sturdy country album. “From A Room: Volume 1” boasts of incredible songwriting and soulful singing devoid of any pretension. Featuring nine tracks, the album starts with “Broken Halos” that underlines Stapleton’s country roots. “Either Way” is an intense country ballad, a slow burner driven on emotional highs. With the “Them Stems” he creates a breezy vibe, a light blues number.
Just like his previous album, this one also includes a cover as Stapleton gives Willie Nelson’s “Last Thing I Needed, First Thing This Morning” his country outlaw treatment. Showing off his versatility, each song gets an individual treatment rather than presenting them in harmony. This approach makes “From A Room” an eclectic effort, also featuring the rock n roll number “Second One to Know” and the low-keyed “I Was Wrong”.
The stylistic detours of the album have increased the anticipation of Volume 2 that will also come out in 2017. In the meantime, enjoy the live rendition of Stapleton’s old songs and new as he performs next in your town. Keep an eye out for the new dates and availability of Chris Stapleton tickets.
