The album consists of an autobiographical number called “Stockyards.” The song’s lyrics belong to the time when he played at the bar in north Fort Worth’s Stockyards area. The number became an instant hit not only in his home city but also among people who had never been to Texas.
Donahew’s wife Melinda served as his manager and helped him work his way up during the time he was performing at clubs and bars. The Casey Donahew Band made a name for themselves without the support of any famous record label or management company. The credit of their success goes to their enthralling live shows, social media and word of mouth.
Casey Donahew started touring in 2005, and since then there has been no looking back for the country singer and his band.
