Brit Floyd is the exquisite band from UK that has taken up the tremendously noble task of performing tributes to the one time, gigantically legendary band Pink Floyd. The Brits were created only recently in 2010 by the talented Chas Cole, who is the CMP Entertainment’s Managing Director, and Damian Darlington who is the Musical Director of this wonderful progressive rock group. The band has made an exceedingly fascinating reputation for its live performances by touring across Europe including the United Kingdom. Their live presentations are based on line very parallel to the entertainment tactics of the original Pinks, who were famous for using extensive laser light shows alongside singing. Similarly, their celebratory band includes an intricately set up light show on the main stage with many additional projections, inflatables so that it is at least stylistically representing the Pink Floyd, with particular attention to their Division Bell Tour of 1994, that is frequently termed ‘Pulse’ tour same as the tour’s DVD and album title. The performance glows and glitter have attracted many crowds of fans to get their Brit Floyd tickets within just a short time of their inception.
In 2010, The Australian Pink Floyd Show (TAPFS) split due to an issue between the directors of TAPFS and CMP. As a result three owners of the show decided to bring in newly assigned management which resulted in their previous management company known as CMP Entertainment to form a completely new band with the fourth owner Damian Darlington who together called their group The British Pink Floyd Show. This name was shortened to Brit Floyd after some time. The band comprises of artists who have all had the opportunity to perform with TAPFS, if not throughout the world then at least in the concerts held in North America. There are only two members in the entire band who have never played with the former TAPFS in their tour of North America through 2008 to 2010. Damian Darlington, in addition, has proved to be the real asset to the group since he has had ample technical and professional experience participating in every performance around the world from 1994 January to 2010 November. He was also present at the performance of 1996 March when TAPFS celebrated David Gilmour’s fiftieth birthday in London.
Brit Floyd delivered their earliest performance in January 2011 in Liverpool, at the huge Echo Arena that flocked together a crowd of six thousand people. The rock concert was filmed and recorded for DVD that was soon available to all those who were present at the following concert of the same tour and with their requests made on the group’s official website. The Venues selected for the United Kingdom tour included some of the most well-established high-end arenas that are known for their ideal stage settings such as the O2 Arena and the Royal Albert Hall in London. The band then went on to play at Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix located in Silverstone. The festival shows performed in 2011 included Glastonbury and The Isle of Wight. The Brits have toured rigorously through 2011, performing through Ireland and the UK in Spring, and then going on to play throughout most of Europe and Scandinavia in Autumn.
The band members of Brit Floyd are Damian Darlington, Ola Bienkowska, Emily Jollands, Amy Smith, Jacquie Willliams and Rob Stringer performing the vocals. Arran Ahmun beats the drums, Rick Benhow and Rob Stringer are responsible for the keyboard, whereas Ian Cattell does the bass guitar. Booby Harrison strums the regular acoustic guitar while Carl Brunsdon does multiple instruments including the saxophone, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, percussion, clarinet and the keyboard. Two important personnel members are Gareth Darlington as the front-of-house engineer and key sound designer, and Bryan Kolupski arranges the video, graphics, photography and animnation.
The members of Brit Floyd in collaboration with other big musical acts have performed periodically on tours and other shows under the banner of The Classic Rock Show, which is a concert that popularly covers smashing hit songs from the hottest albums from the seventies and eighties, by master musicians from the likes of The Who and Dire Straits. Get Brit Floyd tickets and attend a real happening rock concert that is sure to sell out the entire arena to an enormous crowd of wildly excited Floyd fans.
