Rising to prominence
Brian Fallon started to gain recognition when he formed his group, The Gaslight Anthem in 2006. The band consists of Alex Rosamilia, Alex Levine and Benny Horowitz. Fallon became the band’s lead vocalist and principal songwriter. He also played rhythm guitar for the group. They signed a record deal with XOXO Records and released their first studio effort, ‘Sink or Swim’ in 2007. The Gaslight Anthem then signed with SideOneDummy and spawned their sophomore record, ‘The ’59 Sound’ in 2008. The record featured great rock songs including the title track which made it to Rolling Stone’s list of the ‘100 Best Songs of 2008.’
A couple of years later, the quartet made headlines across the world with their third album ‘American Slang.’ The record caught the attention of rock fans in the United States and landed at the sixteenth spot on the Billboard 200. This album included ten songs on the track-list out of which, The Diamond Church Street Choir reached the thirty ninth spot on Rolling Stone’s list of the ’50 Best Songs of 2010.’
The Gaslight Anthem then recorded two more studio efforts, ‘Handwritten’ and ‘Get Hurt’ which hit the shelves in 2012 and 2014 respectively. The latter reached fourth spot on the Billboard 200 and yielded three singles, Rollin’ and Tumblin’, Get Hurt and Stay Vicious. It was also their last album before the band went on a hiatus.
On March 11, 2016, Brian Fallon went solo and released his debut album ‘Painkillers.’ Issued by Island Records, this record immediately became an enormous hit and was included in American Songwriter’s list of the ‘Top 50 Albums of 2016.’ It peaked at the third spot on the Top Rock Albums and also received praise from the critics. Canadian music magazine, Exclaim! gave this album a 8/10 rating and stated,

A month later, Fallon churned out his first extended play ‘Georgia.’ The EP contained three songs, Tin Pan Alley, Low Love and Georgia. It was released in October of 2017.
