watched them singing and wondered what it would be like to stand on that beautiful stage’ were the golden words of Brandi Carlile that changed her fortune shortly after they were delivered. The lady aspired to perform like Dave Matthews and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Veddar on stage, in front of a huge audience. She dreamt to have a great fan following like all those successful musicians she took the inspiration from. Well, led by her passion for music, she availed the opportunity and took the big step forward in line of her passion. In no time, Carlile developed an identity for her sound of music. Though associated with a variety of genres, she clearly splits the difference between the pop/rock and folksy Americana music. Brandi Carlile appeared on the music forefront in 2004. In all these years the artist has put in a lot of effort to get her dreams of becoming a ‘star’ come true. Carlile started to play guitar and write songs at the age of 15. After a year she started singing as a back vocalist for an Elvis impersonator. This was followed by performances at local restaurants, festivals, parties and weddings. Having a firm belief in her talent, she didn’t let go of any opportunity coming her way, thinking any one can turn out to be big and make her dream come true. During this time she encountered a band Fighting Machinists, featuring twin brothers Phil and Tim Hanseroth. Impressed by their spot on harmonies and instrumental skills, she became their fan. By keeping a track of the band’s activities, Carlile got the news of its breakup. Finding an opportunity for herself, she offered the brothers to make a band with her. Together they started off as an aggressive rock and roll band.
 
The artist with her incredible guitar strumming and emotionally strong songwriting abilities brought the band into the lime light. They began touring regularly and conducted opening shows for her favorite musicians Shown Colvin, Dave Matthews and India Arie. This opened the gateway of success for her. In 2005 she entered into a contract with Columbia Records to release a self titled album. The launch was a phenomenal success. In no time Brandie Carlile got recognized as the ‘Artist to Watch’ that year by Rolling Stone Magazine.
 
The artist has released four albums so far with ‘Live At Benaroya Hall With The Seattle Symphony’ as the latest launch. All her album releases got warm and enthusiastic reviews from the critics as well as the people in general. The outstanding success made her tracks get featured in commercials and popular movies as well. Brandie Carlile got a chance to perform with her childhood idol Elton John as well. Her career has taken off at a rocket speed with all album releases getting Platinum and Gold certifications. Not only this, she has recently been recognized with the Seattle’s City of Music Breakthrough Award for 2010.
