National Zoological Park, which is so to celebrate Halloween with Boo at the Zoo event, is counted among the United States’ oldest zoos and is owned by the Smithsonian Institution, which does not charge its visitors nay entrance fee. The zoo was created back in 1889 with the mission to serve as a leader in providing animal care, visitor experience, sustainability, education and science. It is divided into two campuses; the first one being an urban park in northwest Washington D.C. The second campus comprises of the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute that was known earlier as the Research and Conservation Center. The latter is supposed to a non-publicity facility that is devoted to the training of wildlife professionals, as well as to help propagate rare animal species assisting reproduction through natural means. The many exhibits of the zoo include the Giant Panda Habitat, Elephant Trails, Asia Trails, Lemur Island, Small Mammal House, The Great Ape House, Cheetah Conservation Station, Gibbon Ridge, American Trail, The Invertebrate Exhibit, Amazonia, Great Cats, Reptile Discovery Centre, The Bird House, Kid’s Farm and Other Animals.

Boo at the Zoo will give kids a chance to come across their favorite animals while celebrating Halloween. The zoo contains two thousand animals that consist of four hundred species. As reported, one-fifth of these animals are those that are either threatened or endangered. Most of these species have been kept on exhibit in the Rock Creek Park campus of the zoo. Some of the most popular residents include giant pandas, reptiles, amphibians, insects, Asian elephants, big cats, great apes, aquatic animals, birds and some small mammals. The zoo’s famous SCBI facility is home to between thirty to forty endangered species for research purposes, conservation community or to study recommendations.

National Zoological Park is known to take part in actively holding celebrations throughout the year.
