Bon Iver is an American folk band that came into existence in the year 2007. This band was formed by Justin Vernon who is also a singer and a songwriter. The original line up of the band includes Matthew McCaughan, Michael Noyce and SeanCarey. In the same yaer of the bands formation i.e. in 2007 they released their first album entitled For Emma, Forever Ago under the label of a recording label called Jagjaguwar. This album secured twenty ninth position among the Top fifty albums of the year 2008 according to the Rolling Stone magazine.  

In the year 2009 Bon Iver worked in collaboration with St. Vincent and helped in composing the song of creating aids awareness and raised funds for the deserving with the help of their album entitled the Dark Was the Night. In the year 2010 Iver along with Kanye West composed a single Lost in the World. Later on West requested them to help him in compiling the sound track of Monster. These songs were made a part of the slbum titled My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. In the year 2011 they signed a contract with another recording label known as GOOD music. 

In the year 2011 Bon Iver released their second album called Bon Iver. The name of the album was given after the band’s name and is consists of ten songs. The music of this album was quite different from the previous one as this time Vernon decided to bring in different musicians that would render it its uniqueness. People like Colin Stetson who is a bass saxophonist and Greg Leisz is a pedal steel guitarist were called for compiling the music of the album. Their contribution could not go unnoticed and was appreciated by the audience. Gregory Euclide did the art work of the album and it was released along with the album. He later on after completing the art work released two videos on YouTube entitled Making of Bon Iver Album Art.
