Bobby Mcferrin Tickets

Great music, excellent composition and outstanding vocals create an overall impact on the listeners that leaves them simply speechless! That is an experience often seen when an artist as great as Bobby McFerrin performs.

Born with the real name Robert McFerrin, Jr., Bobby McFerrin is American conductor and singer. He was encouraged to sing at a very early age owing to the fact that his parents were both singers, father being an operatic baritone and mother Sara Copper, also a singer. His father Robert McFerrin Sr. had the privilege of being the first ever African American singer to be a permanent part of New York Metropolitan Opera. His mother had also been performing at various opera companies as a solo performer and was acknowledged by Fullerton College, Fullerton, California with the title of Professor Emeritus of Music. After learning music in school years, Bobby McFerrin stepped into the world of professional music. His favorite fields of interest have been Reggae, Classical Music, World Music and Jazz. His work came to surface first in 1977 and ever since his extraordinary performances have always been praised by public. His singing style has always made him conspicuous among the rest of musicians, as he has the capability to switch swiftly from modal to falsetto registers in such a way that it creates a beautiful polyphonic effect. He often does this while performing the main aria as well as the accompanying parts of the song. This unique capability makes his composition unique, and gives it an extraordinary touch. Another interesting feature that is often noted while McFerrin is performing is the creation of percussive effect with tapping of his chest and also with his mouth. The additional percussion with his hands and mouth also makes his composition unique and interesting. The artist is blessed with great vocal talents, and his potential to sing in multiple sounds called the multiphonic singing is also observed in some of his songs. One such song was from his DVD Live in Montreal that was released in 2005 and was titled Drive. Some of the most notable performances by Bobby McFerrin in history include his album titled The Voice released in 1984 that is said to be the first vocal jazz album recorded solo and having no over dubbing or accompaniment. He also lent his voice as Santa Bear in Santa Bear’s First Christmas in 1986 and its sequel released in 1987 with the title of Santa Bear’s High Flying Adventure in which he played voice of Santa Bear and Bully Bear. Also in 1987, he provided music for a Cadbury Chocolate’s commercial campaign and also the theme song for The Cosby Show’s opening credits for Season 4. One of the mega hits produced by Bobby McFerrin was the song titled Don’t Worry, Be Happy in 1988. The song was immensely popular worldwide, and made McFerrin an even bigger celebrity. It was also used in US Presidential Election campaign by George H. W. Bush in 1988, and an interesting part about this usage was that it was done without Bobby McFerrin’s endorsement of permission. McFerrin protested openly against this usage without his permission and also said that he wouldn’t vote for Bush and to make his point even clearer, he permanently dropped the track from his own performance list.  Soon afterwards, another one of his composition went super hit, that was in 1989 for a short film named Knick Knack by Pixar Entertainment. The same year, he worked on another interesting project comprising of ten musicians titled Voicestra that performed in an Oscar winning documentary titled Common Threads: Stories From The Quilt, and also in his next album Medicine Music that was released in 1990. Bobby McFerrin’s work has been critically acclaimed and as an acknowledgement for his outstanding services towards music, he has been awarded with ten Grammy Awards. For people who wish to experience the charisma of his music and singing talent live, Bobby McFerrin tickets are there to provide them with this great opportunity!
