Thanks to his father who played many instruments, Seger was exposed to music from an early age. Young Seger was particularly influenced by Little Richard and Elvis Presley. Before graduating from High School, Seger was leading a three-piece band called the Decibels. Throughout his career, Seger has been part of many musical ensembles. His musical journey started with the Decibels. His next band was The Town Criers which was followed by a stint with Doug Brown & the Omens. It was after Doug Brown & the Omens, Seger scored his first Detroit hit with East Side Story.
