Born on the 17th of May, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, Robert Lane Saget is famous mostly because of his role as the host of one of the most popular shows on American television, America's Funniest Home Videos; and his character in the hit television series, Full House, where he played the role of Danny Tanner. Bob Saget attended the Abington Senior High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Initially, he planned to become a doctor. While at the school, he made a black and white movie called Through Adam's Eyes. The movie was about a boy called Adam who had gone through a face surgery. The film received positive reviews and Saget was given an award of merit at the Student Academy Awards.
After graduating with a Bachelors degree in the year 1978, Bob Saget began performing stand up comedy shows around the area. He also went on tours all over the country, giving performances at various places. Shortly afterward, he started to work as a co host in a CBS television show called The Morning Program. Bob Saget was soon picked up and given the role of Danny Tanner in Full House, which was to become a turning point in his career. The show went on to become one of the most successful comedy series all over the world. It managed to get into the Top Thirty in Nielsen ratings.
After his success with Full House, Bob Saget started hosting America's Funniest Home Videos, which quickly rose to become an extremely successful project. For some time, Saget worked for both shows, Full House as well as America's Funniest Home Videos. He dropped his role as host in the latter in the year 1997. However, he returned to the show for a one hour special for the twentieth anniversary of the series in the year 2009, where he co hosted the program with Tom Bergeron.
On the 13th of October, 2006, Bob Saget began to work as a host on the game show called 1 vs. 100 by NBC. In addition to this, he has also worked at numerous different projects, such as being the narrator of How I Met Your Mother, which is a hit sitcom by CBS. He also resealed a comedy special on HBO titled That Ain't Right. It was released on 28th of August, 2007 on DVD and he dedicated it to Ben Saget, his father. Saget has also worked as a director, and his first feature film was released in the year 1998. It was titled Dirty Work, and included Artie Lang and Norm MacDonald in its cast.
