The American band Blood on the Dance Floor has come to be a recognized name in electronic music. Since their formation in 2007 the band has gathered mega fame and has come to be among the most sought after acts in the genre. Part of the band’s appeal lies in their image. The members are famous for their eccentric look which in addition to the usual body piercing and tattoos also includes wigs, unusual hairstyling and loud apparel.
Dressed in their signature attire the band has earned a reputation for giving amazing live performances. Their shows are known to be a visual and auditory thrill. Another distinctive characteristic of the band’s live concerts is their interaction with the fans. Great music combined with these factors has earned the band a diehard fan base that is commonly referred to as the Slash Gash Terror Crew (SGTC). The popularity of the band is the reason for the quick selling of Blood tickets .
Blood on the Dance Floor hails from Orlando, Florida but is presently based in Phoenix, Arizona. Foundation for the present band was laid when David Jesus Torres known by the stage name Dahvie Vanity formed a band Love the Fashion. In addition to Vanity the initial lineup consisted of Christopher Mongillo and Rebecca Fugate. Soon the trio took the present name of the band and started recording music.
A year later they released their debut album Let's Start a Riot. Within a few months the band followed with the release of their second album It's Hard to be a Diamond in a Rhinestone World. Shortly after the release of the second album Vanity was the only member left to promote the band on tours. Touring alone he got some exposure and the present loyal fan base started taking shape. While on tour he also met the future band member Garrett Ecstasy. Together they released three EP’s. These earned the band more fame and Blood on the Dance Floor went on tour across the country.
Seeing another change in lineup Garrett Ecstasy also left the band. He was replaced by Jeremy Brian Griffis better known as Jayy Von Monroe. He took the role of screamer and rapper in the band. The new lineup released the highly acclaimed album Epic. The album went on to chart at number five in the Billboard Top Electronic Albums. With the release of the album the band also found mainstream success.
Modifying their sound the band’s next album All the Rage saw their music lean more towards electro-pop. Growing in popularity every year the band’s fifth album Evolution topped the Billboard Top Electronic Albums charts. The album featured a collaborative song ‘Incomplete and All Alone’ with Joel Madden. Another song, ‘Rise and Shine’ saw the band collaborating with rap rock artist Deuce. Blood has collaborated with several other well known names in the music industry. These include Jeffree Star, JJ Demon, Shawn Brandon, James Egbert, The Millionaires, Gods Paparazzi and many more.
Music of the band is a mixture of electronic, crunkcore, emo, electropop genres. Also present are elements of hardcore and screamo. Blood on the Dance Floor is famous for their lyrics which are mostly sexually explicit. But there is variation within their songs with some having meaningful deep content. An example of this is their song ‘Pheonix Down’ which is about not giving in to suicide.
Since finding fame, Blood has performed as part of Crunk Kids Tour '09, 2 Drunk 2 Fuck Tour, Lookin' Hot & Dangerous Tour and ha also won praise for their performance at the music festival Warped Tour. This is your chance to grab your Blood on the Dance Floor tickets to see the band live in concert.
