William Thomas Medley, popularly known as Bill Medley, is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter of the blue-eyed soul genre, who is best recognized as one half of music duo The Righteous Brothers. He is known for being exceptional at singing low parts since he possesses the soulful bass required for such vocals. Medley came across singing partner Bobby Hatfield in California State University in Long Beach while he was still a student there. The two started singing together in 1962, with their first singles being “Little Latin Lupe Lu”, which peaked at number forty-nine, and “My Babe” that charted to the seventy-fifth place on US charts. Their first major hit came with the song “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin”, which was produced in 1964 by Phil Spector and climbed up to the number one spot in both the charts of the United Kingdom and United States. This was followed by other hits like “Unchained Melody” and “Soul and Inspiration”. In 2003 the duo was welcomed to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by one of their most ardent fans, Billy Joel. Medley has also gained prominence for his solo music including hits like “Brown Eyed Woman” and “Peace Brother, Peace”, both of which were spotted among Top 4 Pop hits. His other hit singles include “The Time of My Life”, “I Still Do”, “Women in Love”, “Always Got Heart to Sing Blues”, “This is a Love Song”, “Statue of a Fool”, “He’s My Brother”, “He Ain’t Heavy”, and “I Can’t Make It Alone”, all of which were released before the nineties. The emergence of Bill Medley tickets after all these years, has thus stirred up much excitement and anticipation among blue-eyed soul fans.

Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield’s duo broke in 1968, but came back in 1974 with the hit "Rock and Roll Heaven", after which they continued to make joint appearances until Hatfield passed away in November 2003. Medley, however, had already tried a hand at being solo with studio albums Bill Medley 100% released in 1968 and Soft and Soulful released in 1969, both of which charted to number hundred and fifty-two and hundred and eighty-eight. In 1969, the artist appeared at the well-known Festival Internacional da Cancao that takes place in Rio de Janeiro, where he won the second place for singing Jimmy Web’s "Evie". Medley has also released many solo albums through the seventies and eighties including Lay Little Lovin’ On Me, Right Here and Now, Sweet Thunder, Still Hung Up On You, Going Home and The Best of Bill Medley. His biggest success came in 1984 and 1985 with the studio album I Still Do, which produced five singles on country charts, and among these the biggest single was the title track.
In 1987, Bill Medley sang a duet alongside Jennifer Warnes titled "The Time of My Life", which was released on the soundtrack album of Dirty Dancing, and peaked at number one on Billboard Hot 100. The track brought Warnes and Medley a Grammy Award in the following year in the category of Best Pop Performance by Group or Duo with Vocal, as well as an Academy Award for its composers in the category of Best Original Song. Medley other famous songs include the ending theme of the film Major League called Most of All You; his track "Friday Night is a Great Night for Football" featured in the Tony Scott film The Last Boy Scout, and his track featured on the spin-off of Growing Pains, titled "Just The Ten of Us".
Among other works, Bill Medley has recorded a track for Smashing Pumpkins’ Jimmy Chamberlin’s solo offering called Life Begins Again. The maestro is currently performing in Branson, Missouri’s American Bandstand Theater. Grab Bill Medley tickets and be there to watch the maestro in his live act.
