Some of the band members had previous experience in pop music. Big Bang’s final roster consisted of G-Dragon as leader and main rapper, Tae Yang, Dae Sung and Seungri as vocalists and T.O.P as rapper.
G-Dragon and Tae Yang had been signed to the record company from a young age and had been performing together before. The band released a few singles together followed by their debut album, Bigbang Vol.1, in 2006. The album featured the notable singles “With U” and “La-La-La.”
Rise to success
From 2007 to 2008, Big Bang released five EPs and a live album. Their debut EP Always sold over eighty thousand copies and spawned the hit single “Lies.” The track received much critical appreciation.
All five members have gained considerable solo success as well. G Dragon and Tae Yang have released solo materials while the rest have invested in acting careers. They have garnered great acclaim among international audiences for their unique fashion sense and style statements as well.
Alive and Made
In 2012 the band released their most recent full-length album, Alive. The album is a testament to the group’s maturity as singers. “Fantastic Baby” and “Bad Boy” are some of the singles that feature on the album. The lead single from the album topped major domestic charts and the album itself proved to be a big commercial hit.
