Bellydance Superstars Tickets

Bellydance is a Western version or name for the time-honored “West Asian” dance known as Raqs Sharqi. The word bellydance has been translated from “danse du venture, a French term which was used for dancing in the Victorian Era.  In the West it is also sometimes called Arabic dance or Middle Eastern Dance. If you have never gotten a chance to see Bellydance Superstars , it’s time to watch them. This exclusive jazz and blues musical act is touring and going to stop in your town. In 2002, a professional American bellydance troupe was formed which was called the Bellydance Superstars . Miles Copeland was its manager as well as the producer of the show. The troupe started touring and presented seven hundred shows in twenty two countries. In 2009, American television stations started airing the “Live in Paris” show filmed quite a few years ago.  Since then the lineup of bellydancers have become more and more diverse over the years and the range incorporates the fundamentals of different styles of dancing that include Turkish bellydance, traditional Egyptian bellydance, Tribal Fusion, and American Tribal style. The troupe tours broadly in North America, Asia and Europe.

The Bellydance Superstars sometimes called BDSS, first toured in combination with Lollapaloza 2003 music festival. The troupe has finished full circuits of the planet since then, introducing new cultural dance styles into their shows. Their seventy-fifth stop tour named "Bombay Bellywood" was in India, and many dancers learned classical Indian dance for this trip. When they are not on a tour, the Bellydance Superstars deliver many workshops in the four corners of the world and have recently added several more countries to their list. 2009 launched a completely different show named "Art of Bellydance", which gained approval and praise across United States during Feb-March. The Bellydance Superstar association has continued to build strong relationships within the bellydance society through projects such as Raqs events. Bellydancers perform in a unique style and wear various costumes in different countries and region. Costume plays a very important role in bellydance. It includes a tight fitted top with a tassel of coins or beads, a fixed hip-belt either sewn in or separate from the skirt, that also with a fringe of coins or beads. Different countries have their own bellydancing costumes; such as, in Greece the costume is simple, white in color with golden tapes. Normally the dress is linked to the Greek Goddess. In Egypt, the belt is hardly embroidered if a separate skirt and a top are worn. The belly button sometimes is covered with a belly ring. The modern dancers wear heels as where in the ancient times they danced bare feet. In Lebanon, there is no ban on showing belly; the skirts are likely to be sheer revealing more of the bellydancers’ body. Dancing techniques are very important for the correct movements during a bellydance performance. Bellydancing is all about moving different parts of the body separately. Though the modern styles of dance have been performed by women in general; various dances such as cane dances were originated by male performers.
