About the band

Bauhaus was the trendsetter back in the 90s. They are known as the founding fathers of gothic rock and a group who loved to experiment. They had a gloomy look and a dark sound which kept them unique from all the other musical cults of that time. Bauhaus had a brief career where they explored a lot of different genres and added elements to their existing music.

They released their first single Bela Lugosi's Dead with Small Wonder Records. The debut did not manage to reach the pop charts but it remained the de facto rock goth rock anthem for many years. They released their second single in 1980, leading them to their third single titled, Terror Couple Kill Colonel. They started releasing their albums simultaneously and got the popularity they always desired. The band was named after an art school and according to their vocalist; it does not have any influence on the band except the name, energy and sound. All of these elements were combined by the group members to create a rare image of the band.

The split

In 1983, Murphy suffered from pneumonia which made him miss group meetings and practice sessions. Following his recovery, the band went to Japan for a tour and returned to UK to promote Burning From The Inside. After the release, the group decided to split.

Peter Murphy started to work with Mick Karn, bassist of Dali's Car, before starting his solo career. Haskings joined Ash's band Tones and Tail which he had formed in 1981. Later on the group decided to reform Bauhaus but Murphy did not show up. The rest of the three members started recording and made a new band Love and Rockets. The band gave their hit So Alive in 1989 and later they broke up.

The group reunited for a tour in 1998 and then again in 2005-2008. They are reuniting yet again and this time your city is the lucky one. Buy the Bauhaus Tickets and get a chance to witness the long awaited performance of the edgy band.
