The Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra has been around ever since the 1920s. The orchestra is located in the city of Bakersfield in the state of California. The first ever performance held at this legendary venue were conducted by the great Harold Burt. After being dissolved during the World War two era, it made its way back to the big stage in the year 1942 as a result of the passion of some closely knit group of classical music devotees. The name was changed to Kern Philharmonic Orchestra and it played its first performance after being disbanded all those years ago at the East Bakersfield High School and due to the success of their performance they were transferred to the Harvey Auditorium where they stayed till the year 1974.
 
The name was changed back to the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra in the year 1982 and it has stuck ever since. The name is now synonymous with some truly beautiful and exceptional quality live music entertainment and is a must visit place for everyone who hold a passion for the remarkable world of live music.
