Summer 2020 Tour
Badflower will be joining the alternative rock outfit 311 and the Grammy nominated band, Incubus, for a massive summer tour this year. Produced by Live Nation, the road trip is expected to launch on July 15th, 2020, in Auburn and will travel to more than 35 places before wrapping up on September 5th, 2020, in Noblesville. Some of the cities included in the expansive outing include Bristow, Dallas, Gilford, Irvine, Concord, and Salt Lake City.
Badflower released their biggest hit, ‘Ghost,’ around two years back, and since then they have amassed a loyal fan following. The single was so successful that it reached number one on Active Rock radio and number two on Mainstream Rock. The video of this track revolves around a traumatic tale of despair and suicide.
The single was inspired by Josh Katz’s (the band’s frontman) struggle with panic disorder – he soon turned to writing and poured his thoughts and fears into ‘Ghost.’ Hence, this is a very personal track and a very special one indeed. At that time, Katz had no idea that the song would be such a smashing hit. Katz has shared that “I knew it was special for myself, but I just thought the content was maybe too heavy for the audience to really grasp and take it in a positive way.” However, when Katz shared the song with his team, everyone loved it including the band’s manager and producer and they decided to go ahead with it.
Debut Studio Album Hits The Market
In 2019, Badflower came out with their debut studio album called Ok, I’m Sick. It turned out to be a roaring success and debuted at number 140 on the US Billboard 200 Chart. The record has been praised for its raw, emotive, and heavy lyrical content, which makes it genuine and relatable. Ok, I’m Sick also features a lot of guitar-driven stuff, along with some down-tempo music as well.
There are a total of thirteen tracks on the album; some of them include ‘x Ana x,’ ‘Cry,’ ‘The Jester,’ ‘Die,’ ‘We’re in Love,’ and ‘Murder Games.’ Badflower’s music is famous for its distinct sound, descriptive storytelling, and emotional rage – and the songs on their new album reflect that. The themes of these songs revolve around dark and sensitive topics such as molestation, alcoholism, and anxiety. If you don’t mind listening to unsettling and uncomfortable music, then you might want to check out this album.
After touring all across the US in the past, the band is planning to embark on another exciting road trip. So get ready to watch them perform live. Their emotionally driven music will surely blow you away!
