The recently emerged indie rock band of America, Awolnation is a one man effort of Aaron Bruno who has previously worked with Hometown Hero and Under the Influence of Giants. Band members for Awolnation include Aaron Bruno, Kenny Carkeet, Hayden Scott, Christopher Thorn, and Dav Amezcua. Since its existence from 2010, the band has been producing albums with Red Bull Records and focuses on music genres like alternative, electronic, and indie rock. The band gained immense support with the release of its first album and it kept on rising with each of their performance. It gathered a lot of appreciation from critics as well as fans all over the country and is on its way to be one of the nation’s favorite bands.

Awolnationreleased their first EP in the month of May (2010) with the name Back From Earth. The working for the song initiated when Red Bull Records offered Bruno to work in their Los Angeles recording studio free of cost. Bruno, who had already spent quite a few years with other bands seeking to reach heights as he had imagined, decided to take a chance on his semi-successful career and do what he had always aspired to. He penned down a few songs and went on to record a couple of them before going into a formal legal partnership with the label. He insisted on making his own recordings and writing his own songs, to which the label agreed. Aaron only shared his ideas about songs and melodies with family, close friends, and veteran artists who he considered could help him improve his work and guide him through.

Awolnation’s first single by the name ‘Sail’ reached number 30 on the US Billboard Charts instantly. The video and lyrics of the song revolves around aliens coming for him. Bruno stated his influence for the song as another single by the name ‘Come Sail Away’. The song was also used in a video by a professional skydiver, BASE jump, and flyer Jeb Corliss, which brought more recognition and attracted significant media attention.
Megalithic Symphony is the name of the band’s debut album which was released digitally on 15^th March, 2011 with the CD package releasing a couple of days later on the 29^th of March, 2011 under the Red Bull Records. The album consisted of 15 numbers synchronized with iTunes. A bonus track was released for Amazon and iTunes users both. These were: ‘Shoestrings’ and ‘Swinging from the Castle’, respectively. Several songs from the album Megalithic Symphony reached top charts, with ‘Sail’ being the most prominent one. It scored Gold status and peaked at number 5 in the US Alternative Rock charts, number 11 in the US Rock Charts, and number 3 in the Canadian Active Rock and Alternative Rock Chart. ‘Not Your Fault’ and ‘Burn It Down’ are other songs from the album that gained popularity but could not take up significant positions in any of the top charts as ‘Sail’ did.
 
The name of the band was inferred from Bruno’s high school name, Awol. Awolnation is spreading like a virus in the nation and capturing everyone.
