They have primarily been involved in making psychedelic rock and indie rock music. They have released five studio albums, with their latest album having been released this year. Arctic Monkeys were one of the first few bands to catch the public’s imagination through the internet, as opposed to other conventional methods. Interestingly so, their sites were fan made and not officially from the band. They played an instrumental role in reviving punk music in the UK. The Arctic Monkeys came up with their first album in 2006. The album titled, “Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not”, still holds the record for being the fastest selling debut album by any group or band in the UK. The album also received a Mercury Prize. The band has won five Brit Awards which includes two awards for Best British Group. Although they haven’t won a Grammy Award, they have twice been nominated for it.

They have a performance scheduled at the Fillmore Charlotte in North Carolina, which is stylized according to the famous Fillmore in San Francisco. Built inside a textile mill, the Fillmore Charlotte provides a unique ambience reminiscent of the first Fillmore. The lineup of the band includes Alex Turner as the lead vocalist and the lead guitarist, Jamie cook on rhythm guitars. Nick O'Malley provides the backing vocals and plays the bass guitar while Matt Helders features on drums and also gives backing vocals. Andy Nicholson who was part of the original lineup, left soon after the band released its debut album in 2006.

After the band’s first album went on to reach number thirty four on the Billboard charts in the U.S, they were soon working on their second album, “Favourite Worst Nightmare”. It was released in 2007 and got the first position on the UK Albums Chart. Their successive albums lived up to the success of their past albums. With their popularity gaining day by day, they show no signs of stopping anytime soon.
