The Grammy-winning Canadian indie-rock band, Arcade Fire came to Pittsburg in 2004 when they last appeared there at the Rex Theatre. It was a long time back and now much to the fans surprise, the band will be coming to the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburg after almost a decade. The current line-up of Arcade Fire consists of six members including the couple Win Butler and Régine Chassagne. On its tours, Sarah Neufeld, the former member of the band and two additional percussionists will also be joining the band. The band rose to prominence in 2004 with the release of “Funeral” their critically acclaimed debut which has also been listed in the “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.” The album also garnered a number of awards including a Grammy Award and a Juno Award.
Debuting at number two on the Billboard 200, “Neon Bible,” was released in 2007 and became their first highest charting album. It sold more than 92,000 copies within the first week of its release. The band’s next album “The Suburbs” was even more successful, reaching number one on both the US Billboard 200 and Canadian Albums Chart. Among its numerous awards and accolades include Juno Award, BRIT Award, Grammy Award and Polaris Music Prize for 2011.
