Anthony Green is an American artist from Doylestown in the US state of Pennsylvania. He is a singer, a songwriter and a musician who plays the guitar and the bass guitar. At present, Anthony Green is the lead vocalist of the popular band Circa Survive. Before that, he was a member of several other bands including Saosin and The Sound of Animals Fighting. In 2003, he became a member of Saosin, a rock band from California and played within it for a year. In 2004, he left this band to form his own band. Thus, Circa Survive was formed and it was based in Philadelphia within the US state of Pennsylvania. This band with Anthony Green’s as its frontman was signed onto Equal Vision Records and played indie rock and experimental rock music. By 2005, this band had released an EP of its tour titled as The Inuit Sessions and soon after, the band released its first album titled as Juturna. Since then, this band has gone on tour all over America as well as released a number of albums.
Anthony Green with his band Circa Survive has played many live shows. He was part of a tour alongside My Chemical Roman and Thrice. He was also part of the headlining tour of Mae. In 2007, Circa Survive released their second studio album titled as On Letting Go. This band then went tour after the release of this album and to promote it as well as working on their next studio release. In 2010, the album Blue Sky Noise was released. The EP Appendage was also released in 2010, hardly months after the release of the band’s third studio album. Aside from Circa Survive, Anthony Green also formed The Sound of Animals Fighting alongside members of popular bands such as Finch, Days Away, Rx Bandits and Chiodos. This project involved the bands wearing animals masks and releasing sensational music.
Anthony Green has also collaborated with many other artists. He worked with Craig Owens, a renowned contemporary musician, after he met him in The Sound of Animals Fighting. His solo career started off in 2005 when he went on a solo tour. The first performances involved being opener for Fred Mascherino of Taking Back Sunday and it involved shows played in several cities including Philadelphia. In 2007, he began work on his first solo album and in 2008, he performed live at the world famous SXSW Music Festival in the city of Austin. In this festival, he performed two different shows and was backed by the band Good Old War. In 2008, he released his first solo album Avalon which went on to rank well on the Billboard 200 charts. The same year, he went on tour to support this album. In 2012, he released his second solo album titled as Beautiful Things after releasing an EP of the same name at the end of 2011.
To date, Anthony Green has released five solo albums as well as eleven albums as a member of several bands. He has also had guest appearances in as many bands and is therefore renowned in the rock music scene as one of the most creative and innovative artists.
