America The Band is a folk rock music group from the United Kingdom. The original line-up of the band comprised of Dewey Bunnell, Gerry Beckley and Dan Peek. The trio was hardly out of their teenage years when they formed the group and instantly rose to fame in 1972. They scored various number one hit singles and also won a Grammy Award in the category of Best New Musical Artist. The success that they found in recording their studio songs was at its peak in the decade of the 1970s with number one songs such as "Sister Golden hair", "Daisy Jane", "A Horse with No Name", "Lonely People", "Tin Man" and "Venture Highway". Seven of the albums of the band were produced by George Martin.

The quartet was successfully featured in the performances of the ASQ’s Carnegie Hall in 2012-2013 as a debut at the popular Weill Recital Hall, the Phillips Collection located in Washington D.C., TCAN Center for the Arts, CAG series, Caramoor Center for the Arts, the MET, Montalvo Center for the Arts, an extensive tour of the entire Northern California and various other live shows all over the Tri-State of the New York vicinity. On an international level, this quartet has performed at the famous Seoul Arts Center and also in South Korea at the acclaimed Isle Festival which is held in Jeju. In 2012, they were seen performing two of the most amazing quartets of Beethoven’s live on the WQXR which was basically included in the program of Beethoven String Quartet Marathon that they were taking a part in.

Also in the summer of 2012, the Amphion String Quartet made a mega come back to the OK Mozart Festival and also to the known Chamber Music Northwest. The group gave live performances in a group effort with the Tokyo String Quartet, William Purvis, Michala Petri and Edgar Meyer. They eventually wrapped up their debut world class shows with a stunning live event at La Jolla’s popular SummerFest. In this music festival they came together to perform with famed artists such as Deborah Hoffman who is a harpist and James Dunham the violist. The summer prior to 2012, the quartet gave a stunning performance at the Chamber Music Northwest in which it was titled as the Protégé Quartet-in-Residence while they affiliated with the clarinetist and also the artistic director named David Shifrin. Moreover, they were seen live on the stage with Music@Menlo and also in the OK Mozart Festival. They also performed with the New York City’s Beethoven Institute at Mannes. The quartet had been working in association with the Brento Quartet.
