Alton’s was born in California and spent his childhood as part of the Boy Scouts of America. However, from an early age he enjoyed spending time in the kitchen with his grandmother and mother, who were the first people to discover and polish his culinary talent. Alton laughs about how he utilized this special ability to get dates with popular girls in college. After graduating from University of Georgia, Alton Brown followed his father’s footsteps and entered the media industry.
