Alison Krauss first picked up an instrument, violin, when she was only five years old. She didn’t take too long to switch her attention to bluegrass and that is when the seeds were planted for her to become the legend that she is today. Krauss then began to compete in different competitions and won the Walnut Valley Festival aged thirteen only.
Alison Krauss made her debut in the year 1985 when she released “Different Strokes” on her own. She had by then joined the band Union Station and started to perform with them too. Her talents brought her to the attention of Rounder Records who signed her up in 1987. Krauss then came out with “Too Late to Cry.”
Krauss then followed that up with “Two Highways” with Union Station. Her next solo project was “I’ve Got That Feeling” which hit the music stores in 1990. The album charted on the Billboard and won her the first of her twenty seven Grammys. It was once again time to work on an album with the Union Station and the result was “Every Time You Say Goodbye” in the year 1992. She won another Grammy for her efforts on the album.
She followed that up by winning another Grammy after “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” was released. That is how Alison Krauss started her journey to stardom and she hasn’t looked back since.
