Alexandre Barrette is a Canadian comedian and TV host from Quebec in Canada. He studied at the Ecole Nationale de L’humor in Montreal from where he graduated in 2002 and went on to start a prosperous career in comedy that has seen many flock to see him perform live through Alexandre Barrette tickets. He appears live on the radio station CKOI-FM as part of the Mid Morency program. On TV, he is one of the participants of the TV series Colocs on MusiquePlus which also stars Nicholas Savard, Christopher Williams and Billy Tellier. On TV, he is the host of two programs on the V network and has received many awards including the Gala Olivier Award for the Discovery of the Year, awarded to him in 2007.
 
After he graduated from the National School of Humor in Montreal, Alexandre Barrette went on to join ENH as a member of its Quebec tour as part of twenty shows. In 2003, he came out with his first show titled as Alexandre Without Restraint which was presented in some of the biggest venues in Quebec. The same year, he performed with Alain Choquette at the Comedy Festival being held in Abitibi-Temiscamingue. He also took part in Just for Laughs under Louis Jose Houde and Patrick Huard and then went on to participate in a Radio Canada youth program as one of its columnists. In 2004, he participated in Just for Laughs Festival, performing with Martin Matte and receiving a nomination for an award. He again returned to Radio Canada, this time for the show Grosse Minute and then went on the Just for Laughs tour.
 
In 2004, Alexandre Barrette also received three Gala Olivier Award nominations and in 2005, he started performing at Wednesdays Just for Laughs, continuing to do so until 2007. This is a Just for Laughs series that features the best comedians from the Quebec region. In 2006, he again participated in the Just for Laughs Festival. He went on to star in and write for two shows; the Colocs of Humor and Comedia. His performance titled as Ouandi Letter earned him a Price of Just for Laughs Relief nomination as well as being selected for the amazing The Best Moments of Just For Laughs which was broadcast on the channel, TVA.
 
Reviewed favorably in the media by the likes of the Journal de Montreal, Alexandre Barrette continued with his career in comedy, skyrocketing. He again performed live all over Canada and received the Gala Olivier Award for the Discovery of the Year. He then took part in the Bets of Wednesday animation and the All Quebec Short of Comedia. He also performed at the Just for Laughs Festival and participated in the Grand Laughing concert in Quebec, part of Francois Massicotte’s Roseq tour. In 2008, he returned to his radio show, Midi Morency, which airs on CKOI-FM and another show, For Fun, airing on CBC. He wrote radio and TV commercials for Boston Pizza, starring in them as well and became the spokesperson for the fourth edition of the Arcadia festival, a festival dedicated to video games.
 
Alexandre Barrette followed this up with an amazing tour, going to high schools to perform the Educ’alcool show and then went back to the Colocs TV series of which he is also a co-writer. He returned again to the Just For Laughs Festival and started new shows; Just for Fun on CKOI and Flash on TQS.
