Murray graduated from Bedford School and later he went on to attend St. Edmund Hall, Oxford and graduated with a degree in History. During his time at the St. Edmund Hall, Murray also performed as a part of a Comedy Group called Oxford Revue. His work with the Oxford Revue began the starting point of his career as a comedian. Afterwards Al Murray started performing as a solo act and sooner than later he earned the respect of thousands of fans all over the globe. In the early days of his career, Murray was spotted touring with the likes of Frank Skinner, Harry Hill and Jim Tavare. Moreover, the year of 1999 brought him Perrier Award at Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Prior to winning the award, Murray received three consecutive nominations for the awards from the year 1996 till 1998. Initially, Al Murray started out as a voice impressionist, and usually did the sound impressions of animals, guns and car boot. Due to this, Al Murray was highly applauded for his vocal skills. Later in his career, Al Murray came up with the creative persona of the Pub Landlord. The Pub landlord is British Nationalist who is stereotypical in a sense that he hates everything that's not British. So mostly he makes his disliking remarks about the French and the German. Along with this persona, Al Murray also gave birth to several of his famous catch phrases including You Disgust Me, Time Waster, Beautiful British Name, I was never confused, All hail to the ale and few more. The performances of Al Murray also have the musical touch to them as he usually gets some musicians to perform the renditions of the famous British Rock Band the Queens, hence showing his affection to the music of Queens. Murray Debuted with the character of Pub Landlord while he went on the tour with the Harry Hill as a supporting act back in 1994. And in the following year Murray reprised this persona again for the 1995 release, Pub Fiction. Ever since then Murray received quite some appreciation for his character of the Pub Landlord, and apart from that his theatre show titled My Gaff, My Rules was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award in 2002. Moreover, in a Television Series named Time Gentlemen Please, Murray reprised his persona with central focus of the series given to his character. As the success story moved on for Murray, he performed various theatre tours including his highly acclaimed ? A Glass of White Wine for the Lady Tour? and ?Giving it Both Barrels?. Later in 2007, Murray also started his own chat show called the Al Murray's Happy Hour that went on air for the first time on January 13 on ITV. Just like his previous endeavors, the show was nothing less than successful which became evident with a nomination for a National Television Award that the show received as well as the British Comedy Award win. In the year 2009, Murray performed as a headlining act for Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow as well as hosting Live at the Apollo, a BBC One TV Show. Murray is back on road again this year with his award winning act so brace yourselves for some laughs of your lifetime.
