Albano Carrisi, popularly known as Al Bano, is an accomplished Italian actor, winemaker and singer, best recognized in the latter capacity. The singer debuted in 1966 at the famous Festival delle Rose as well as on television, simultaneously. Two years later, he took home the Disco per I’Estate, which is an Italian music contest for singing the track Pensando a te. He soon recorded his own songs and made big hits with the tracks Nel sole and La Siepe, where the former sold as many as six hundred thousand records in Italy in only three months of their first issue and eventually went on to sell more than a million copies all over the world, which brought it the gold disc award in the summers of 1968. Soon enough, the artist began working on a collaborative musical project alongside Roma Power, his future wife.

After getting married the couple recorded their first Italian hit and continued to sing together for nearly thirty years as Al Bano and Romina Power. Their music gained popularity particularly in European countries including Germany, Austria, Romania, Spain and France. Al Bano is known for touring all over the globe and is a regular on Italian television, with a huge fan-base that closely follows his career moves. To date, the artist has released and sold a hundred and sixty-five million albums worldwide. Al Bano tickets are considered to be quite a treat among pop music fans who enjoy those romantic Italian tunes.

In 1975, Al Bano and Romina Power released the album Dialago, following which they participated in the well-known Eurovision Song Contest of 1976. The duo sang their track We Can Live It All Once Again. In 1981, they performed the song Sharazan and the very next year they appeared at the renowned Sanremo Music Festival, where they sang Felicita, coming second in the competition. They then performed the song Ci sara and finally won the first place. In 1985 they took part in Eurovision Song Contest yet again where they sang Magic O Magic, and both were placed on the seventh spot. Their hits from 1987 include Liberta and Nostalgia canalgia, among which the former brought them the third prize at the Festival di Sanremo. These big hits were followed by other hits such as Cara Terra mia that they sang at the same festival and came third. In 1991, they released their studio offering titled Oggi Sposi.

By 1996, Al Bano came back to creating music as a solo artist with his release an Italian release that was followed the very next year by Verso il sole, which in turn was followed by Ancora in volo two years later. In 2000, after many years he revisited the famous Eurovision stage where he performed as the backing vocalist of Swiss entry La vita cos’e played by the well-established Jane Bogaert, and the track was given the twentieth position among twenty-four. In 2001, the artist received a nomination from the United Nation’s FAO for the position of their Goodwill Ambassador. In 2005, the maestro was offered to star in an Italian version of reality show Celebrity Survivor called L’isola dei Famosi. Two years later, he made an appearance at the Sanremo Music Festival where he performed Nel perdano and came second.
