A city with a motto; What a Place to Live and Die and the nick name The Heart of the TreasureValley, Nampa is one of the fastest expanding city in Canyon County, Idaho, USA. With the population exceeding 80,000 according to 2010 census, Nampa is stated as the largest city in CanyonCounty. Located at the west of Meridian and Boise, Nampa is also the part of Boise Metropolitan area. Nampa saw life in 1880 when the railroad passed through this area while building Oregon Short Line Railroad. Later on more railroads passed through this area thus making Nampa one of the most important railroad towns. The initial settlers named this area as New Jerusalem due to strong religious hold of the citizens. In the time of a year alone the town expanded from 15 homes to 50.

Nampa is unique in the sense that the roads in Nampa basically follow the railroad track thus running northwest to southeast instead of the traditional north to south path. As Oregon Short Line rail road crosses Boise, Nampa is stated as the fanciest of the railroad depots built in the vicinity. As the life came to Nampa, the needs grew as well. Thus the first elementary school Lakeview School was built in 1890’s. Still now LakeviewSchool exists when it got refurbished in 2008 and is still used as IdahoArtsCharterSchool. Not just the education became the prime necessity but the needs for recreation were also fulfilled with Lake Ethel fulfilling the purpose. Although it was an irrigation reservoir but soon it turned out to be a site for picnics, family gatherings, fishing, swimming and hunting. Although hunting was banned soon keeping in view the well being of wild life but the rest of the activities also came to an end when the Lake Ethel was taken up in an auction by the former Mayor. Finally he had to put an end to the lake as floods devastated the neighboring lands to. Now a beautiful park has been developed and named as Lake View in memory of the Lake Ethel that once existed there. Lake View Park is the largest park in Nampa where the community events take place along with many other social events are organized.

Like any city has its own library so does
Nampa. Although in this world of technology, libraries are mostly seen barren and same is the case with Nampa Public Library that is now undergoing renovation and will soon emerge as a well stock library for the service of researchers and students. The annual harvest festival is the major community gathering at Nampa that attracts many people. Later the Snake River Stampede Rodeo festival emerged in 1937 that is still a major attraction towards Nampa. Grab the chance and get Nampa tickets now as the life begins at Nampa. Avail the opportunity and get Nampa tickets now for you will miss the fun if you will not be there!
