As Oregon Short Line rail road crosses Boise, Nampa is stated as the fanciest of the railroad depots built in the vicinity. As the life came to Nampa, the needs grew as well. Although hunting was banned soon keeping in view the well being of wild life but the rest of the activities also came to an end when the Lake Ethel was taken up in an auction by the former Mayor. Finally he had to put an end to the lake as floods devastated the neighboring lands to. Now a beautiful park has been developed and named as Lake View in memory of the Lake Ethel that once existed there. Lake View Park is the largest park in Nampa where the community events take place along with many other social events are organized.
