Milwaukee is the biggest city in the state of Wisconsin. It is number twenty six on the list of most populated cities in the U.S. Up till 2 years ago; it had an approximate population of 604.497. With its large enough population, it is a major center for a number of activities that are well known. These are well known sports and entertainment shows that many come from far and wide to see. Milwaukee Tickets to these shows are easily available, and you can get your hands on them from a variety of outlets, including online ones.
Milwaukee has an interesting history; just like many other parts of the United States. The French Missionaries were among the first people to come here from Europe. Also, the well known explorer Solomon Juneau made this place his home in 1818.
Additionally, there were other Europeans to join this place, such as the Germans, who inhabited the area in the following years. This is how the population gradually increased. Prior to the European settlers, Milwaukee had native tribes here, such as Menominee, Mascouten, Ojibwe, etc.
Milwaukee has originally been labeled a brew manufacturing area, but there have been some initiatives taken in order to transform this. The addition of certain organizations such as an art museum, and airline, music hall, etc. has helped to change the way people think of Milwaukee. In addition this, there has been a tremendous expansion in the structure of the landscape. There are now many skyscrapers and top class condos that have contributed to the way that the neighborhoods look.
Milwaukee is said to have three main individuals who made this place what it is. One of these was Solomon Juneau, who established what is called Juneau's Side. It is also called Juneautown. Another prominent name that is known in Milwaukee’s history is Byron Kilbourn. He is said to be responsible for establishing the Milwaukee River. He additionally founded Kilbourntown. One feature of his work is that he ensured that streets heading in the direction of the river didn’t merge on the east side. As a result of this preventative measure, there are several angled bridges that are a common view in Milwaukee. Kilbourn also handed out maps and directions which simply ignored the existence of Juneautown.
The third founder in Milwaukee was known as George H. Walker who laid claim to lands around Milwaukee River south end. This place was named Walker's Point.
Despite the competition that may have existed amid these towns and their founders, there was growth experienced. By the 1840s, the three towns had grown quite a bit, and so did the competition and hostility. These were violent and eventually led to the Juneautown- Kilbourntown 1854 Bridge War.
After the war, it was decided that there would be a peace pact which resulted in the incorporation of the two troubled towns as the City of Milwaukee on 31st Jan, 1846. Solomon Juneau became Milwaukee's 1st mayor on this day. This historic day of uniting the towns allows much peace and prosperity that lasts till today. Today we enjoy this peace in the form of fun loving entertainment. And we can get Milwaukee Tickets to any of these shows today.
