J. Cole Brings “Forest Hills Drive Tour” to North America, Featuring Big Sean, YG & Jermih
Working his way into prominence, J. Cole is a force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop industry. Following two smash hit albums, “Cole World: The Sideline Story” and “Born Sinner”, the phenomenal rapper took a more personal approach on his third record “2014 Forest Hills Drive”. Besides earning him the 2015 Billboard Music Award for the Top Rap Album, it also received the honor of being the first rap album since 1989 to go Platinum.
Earlier the hip-hop sensation announced his “Forest Hills Drive Tour” via Twitter and wrapped up a very successful 20-date leg that aimed at small markets around the US. Titled “Act 1 – Hometown”, J. Cole kicked off the tour from Eugene on March 2 and performed the final concert on April 7 in Providence. On April 30, the Grammy nominated artist headed overseas to Europe with his “Act 2: The Journey”. He was supported by Jhené Aiko, Bas, Pusha T, Omen and Cozz on this 15-date trek and his final concert at the London O2 Arena on May 18 recorded a sold out attendance. Jay Z’s Roc Nation protégé showed the fans the time of their lives with his impeccable storytelling style laced with his trademark humor.
On July 12, J. Cole hit the road with his “Act 3: Hollywood” and the 29-date trek will see him performing in massive arenas like the New York’s Madison Square Garden, L.A.’s Staples Center and Chicago’s First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. The tour will wrap up with a “Homecoming” show in Fayetteville, N.C. on August 29. Throughout the run, the sexy crooner will be supported by Big Sean and special guests – YG, Jeremih, Cozz, Bas and Omen.
On July 19, J. Cole, Big Sean, YG & Jeremih will head to the Staples Center and according to ExciteEvents, it’s the most expensive event of the tour. Carrying a price tag of $353, fans will have to pay top bill to attend this concert. Madison Square Garden is the second most expensive stop on the docket, average ticket price stated as $256. J. Cole will head to New York on August 4 and despite the high rates, a jam-packed crowd is expected.
There are some low priced J. Cole tickets available as well and these are for the cities Albuquerque and Maryland Heights. ExciteEvents is offering them at $96 and $101, respectively.
Besides headlining his own tour, J. Cole will also be performing at the 6th Annual OVO Fest. Taking place on August 2 & 3 at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, it will feature Drake, Big Sean and Kevin Hart is also expected to take the stage. On ExciteEvents OVO Fest: J. Cole & Big Sean tickets are available for $276 and the ardent supporters of these musicians can also buy OVO Fest: Drake & J. Cole – 2 Day Pass for $762.
2014 Forest Hill Drive, J. Cole’s latest studio album, was certified platinum in March 2015. It became the first hip hop album with no featuring artists to be certified platinum since 1989. Cole’s ongoing tour to support the album has been met with favorably positive reviews and he has registered several sold out shows already.
As his tour continues, we have added two new dates to the itinerary for the month of September. On 4th September he will perform at Centre Bell in Montreal and on 26th September he will stop by Tempe Beach Park in Tempe for the Summer Ends Music Festival.
The show in Montreal will feature Yg & Jeremiah and Big Sean, while the Summer Ends festival will feature Cole along with Big Sean and Slightly Stoopid.
